​Third World Cinema

The main goal of our group was to showcase how technology and expectations of other individuals can warp one’s perception of self. In particular we chose to screen animated projects of Israeli filmmakers – Reflections andAvoidance. We felt that these short films did a fantastic job communicating a certain

loneliness one encounters in the modern world. These videos were also able to tell a story without relying too much on conventional storytelling elements of dialogue and a linear storyline, but instead allowed viewers to naturally connect with the characters through dynamic animation.
